By utilizing wieight factors, users are able to prioritize machines for assignment. This feature is useful when there are several candidates of machines for a single product/ step. Evaluation is performed based on results of several temporary assignment (back tracking), which brings about accurate solution. |

PlanWizard generates schedules in both backward or forward direction or in combined directions. In the backward scheduling , orders are assigned just before their due dates. This type of schedule reduces inventory. However it is inconvenient in this case that operations do not start at the beginning of morning shift. Bi-directional scheduling feature of PW solves this problem. In addition, this function solves past assignment problem caused by backward scheduling. This feature is very convenient for practical scheduling purposes. |
